Fabiana Cantilo to Perform in Mar del Plata: A Rock Legend’s Unmissable Concert

In a much-anticipated event, Fabiana Cantilo, one of the most influential voices in Argentine rock, will grace the stage at Ciudad Cultural Brew House in Mar del Plata on Saturday, November 21, 2026. This performance promises to be a memorable night as fans eagerly await the live rendition of Cantilo’s greatest hits. Tickets are already available, offering a 50% discount for members of the Comunidad Indie Hoy.

Born in Buenos Aires in 1959, Fabiana Cantilo has established herself as a cornerstone of Argentina’s popular music landscape. Her career began with Las Bay Biscuits, followed by a stint with Los Twist, before cementing her status as a pivotal figure during the 80s as a backup singer for Charly García and Fito Páez. She has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Luis Alberto Spinetta, participating in fundamental albums of the national rock scene.

In 1985, Cantilo launched her solo career with the album Detectives, leading to her breakthrough with Algo mejor in 1991. This album featured iconic tracks like “Mi enfermedad” and “Mary Poppins y el deshollinador.” Over the years, her discography expanded with releases such as Golpes al vacío, Sol en cinco, ¿De qué se ríen?, Información celeste, Inconsciente colectivo, Hija del rigor, En la vereda del sol, Ahora, Superamor, and Cuna de piedra.

A highlight in her career was the 2005 album Inconsciente colectivo. This homage to Argentine rock saw Cantilo reinterpreting classics from artists like Charly García, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Fito Páez, Divididos, and Los Redondos, with famed musicians like Gustavo Cerati, Fito Páez, and Hilda Lizarazu. The album won a Premio Gardel, reinforcing Cantilo’s reputation as one of the genre’s leading interpreters.

As we approach 2026, Fabiana Cantilo remains a vibrant presence on stage, celebrating a career spanning over four decades. Her current activities include collaborations that honor the history of Argentine rock and connect with artists from various generations. She continues to enrich her musical legacy with new releases and audiovisual projects, such as “Flor de Loto,” published in 2026.

With three Premios Konex, three Premios Gardel, and being named Personalidad Destacada de la Cultura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Cantilo is undeniably a luminary of national rock. Her distinctive voice, captivating stage presence, and connection to some of Argentina’s most significant musical works ensure her enduring status as a leading female figure in the genre.
